2024 European Championship on snipe
The fourth edition of the European Snipe Championship took place in Ireland on October 12 and 13, in the vast natural marsh of Mountbellew in the county of Galway. The homogeneity of these large spaces means that all the dogs have an identical terrain and can perform in the same conditions. There are many snipe, and almost all the dogs meet them several times during their run.
Twenty-one Reds, divided into two batteries, competed for the European Championship. Four nations were represented: one dog from England, one from Northern Ireland, thirteen from the Republic of Ireland, and six from France.
We must thank Ray O’Dwyer and his entire team who orchestrated this event and who allowed everyone, judges and competitors, to eat in front of a generous free buffet.
