European Practical Hunting Championship 2026 Lajatico (Italy)
The 2026 European Practical Hunting Championship took place in Italy on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September 2026 in Lajatico in the province of Pisa. On 25 September, a solo special with CACT award took place reserved for young Irish Setters under 30 months of age.
The organization under the responsibility of the Italian Society of Setters (SIS) was a success, the welcome, the friendliness were the driving force of these three days.
The territory was made up of a succession of hills whose biotope made up mainly of wheat and alfalfa stubble suffered from the five months of drought. The hard and dry ground and the weak and changing wind created difficult conditions for the dogs.
However, these difficulties are not the responsibility of the organizers, and we guess that with normal hygrometry, the conditions will be ideal.
The main thing for 2026 is that all the competitors were on an equal footing against the pheasants who were very mobile on one field and the partridges in good numbers on the second field.
The jury of four different nationalities, particularly competent and impartial, was able to take into account the difficulties present.
