European Spring Championship 2025

The thirty-ninth edition of the European Spring Championship took place this year in the Aube region of France, in Creney-Près-Troyes (10150). This new organization breathed new life into our annual event, and we rediscovered the conviviality and good atmosphere of the early years of Moncetz-Longevas. The welcome from the hunting association, the quality of the grounds and the birds contributed to the success of this event.

With 12 dogs entered in the Derby, 17 in solo competitions, and 39 in pairs, 68 Irish Setters from eight different nations participated in these three days in Creney-près-Troyes (Germany, Denmark, France, Greece, Netherlands, Italy, Czech Republic, and Ukraine), thus confirming the success of these three days.

At the end of this weekend, the twenty-eighth European Spring Champion of our breed was announced.

Friday, March 21st

A day reserved for the European Derby, a dozen young dogs less than 24 months old were examined by a jury chaired by Ray O'Dwyer. After an initial round, four of them were selected for a second round: UZO des Vanilla Sativa, owned by Mr. Le Chevillier, UPPER of Celtes d'Artrat, owned by Mr. Jafflin, and CHIVAS, owned by Mr. Kroyer.

CHIVAS, owned by Frank Kroyer, was named the winner of the 2025 Spring Derby.
